Gof Pika si Chicka-My 26 Forever Birthday Dinner

On February 26, my bestest friends threw me a almost surprise birthday dinner at World Cafe at the Fiesta Resort in the private function room. It was an intimate evening with 20 of my amazing friends with the exception of my sister Lucille who relocated to the mainland. It was a nice night filled with love and laughter. Thank you my darlings for everything. The party favors and decor were more than I could ever expect but the company was divine. I am truly blessed.
Wouldn't you want to take one of these babies home? In the Finadene Kit there was a mini bowl, spoon that hangs on the bowl so it doesn't slip into the pika condiment, a chilli sugar cookie, lime juice, soy sauce and Tobascco. I am set to go home and continue to spice up my life.
The party favors and centerpiece. A brainiac poster with my picture in the center of the pepper-How CLEVER!!! Godiva Chocolate bar and a Finadene Survival Kit. So awesome.
My hubby. He makes my 26 birthdays super special. Love you babe.
Meet Lea-another middle school friend that I was reunited with. Thanks for being Jorgey's date Lea.
Love these peeps. Carlos, my other half or asaguahu Laurel, Edward and Lisa. Thanks for being there.
Our Manglona Family. Erwin, Richelle, Bea and Jakesters. Thanks for coming you guys...love you:)
Audrey and Rebecca...who bless my life with their wit and presence. Love them:)
My sissy deary Mary. We go way back and everyday, I love her more and more. She was the mastermind behind getting all the important people in my life to show up that night.
My brother from another mother, Luckie Lucks:)
Friends are forever...time nor distance will keep you from one another.
My handsome BF Jorge, we attended the same middle school and lost touch for decades then when we reunited, it was a match made in heaven. I love him:)
My friends, my sisters. These two were the masterminds behind my fabulous dinner party theme. I love them so much. Arleen and Darlene-it's no wonder that their names rhyme:)
Ready...set...BLOW!!!!
I have the best friends in the world. I'm so happy and I'm about to make a wish and blow out my 26 candles. LOL~
The Wasabi Chocolate Cheesecake from Sweet Releif. Such a unique but yet familiar flavor as the wasabi and chocolate cross your tastebuds at the same time. Thanks Jorgey:)

Spring Fling-Easter Rings!

Spring Season and the Easter Holiday are my FAVORITES! I love the pastel colors and all the wonderful merchandise the retailers lure us in with. But most of all, I love the symbolism of the Ressurection and a new life...hence the blooming flowers in Spring.

So to pay homage to the season...I've experimented with different sugar cookies and here are some of my best ones. I hope you enjoy and get inspired to create.

Egg hatching a baby chick. Sugar cookie idea I came across and had to make it and I love it.

The Fabulous Easter Bunny. Another great gift idea. The incredible carrot-so super cute. The initial experiment wit these two cookies. I just love how cute they turned out. Spring is in the air...it was a coincidence that my decorative paper matched the butterfly. Easter basket idea-different from the typically candy and gadgets filled baskets.
Butterflies and flowers.

Let's Talk Cookies

Valentine 2011-Presenting your homemade gifts in well thought of ways says much about your personality and giving heart. After all, when you purchase these delectables from retailers, you pretty much pay for the packaging.
February 2011-Think outside the box when you decorate your cookies-use sprinkles, beads, colores sugars and other small itmes to dress up the cookies.

February 2011-Standing out...it's in the packaging. It's ok to be creative when you package these little darlings...nothing ribbon and cellophane bags can't pretty up.

Valentine 2011-I made these minature heart shaped cookies with sprinkles. The oerfect gift for your special friends. They kind of reminded me of the little frosted animal crackers. Sp precious.

Christmas Cookies 2010- After making these cookies, my desire to get better at making and decorating sugar cookies increased. I set a goal that I will practice and do what it takes to learn this art in one year.
February 2011-The Pirate Cookie-made for one of my favorite bestie Monica's children's pirate b-day party. My sister Mary and Bella had so much fun helping me with this project. They are just too adorable.February 2011-The Monogram Cookie made for Bella's BFF Mariah's 11th b-day. This cookie has actually been a crowd favorite to have as party favors. I've made dozens for friends and family upon their requests after they debuted.

February 2011-Cupcake cookies. I had a hard time creating the chocolate brown icing so I used melted chocolate which didn't dry the way I hoped for. These cookies were just an excuse to practice some more.

December 2010-I inherited the Snowflake Cookie Cutter Collection for my BFF Jorge and i must say that it was one of my most fabulous inheritance:) Thanks Jorgey!!! Ofcourse these cookies were a sample set for him.

October 2010-Harajuku Lovers-Love, Gwen and Musik. I had so much fun creating these cookies and the Bella's friends had so much fun eating them.

October 2010-Isabella's 10th Harajuku Lovers B-day Party. Meet HL "Love". This was one of my favorites. This was done free hand-both the carving of the dough and the icing. She looked pretty close to the real thing.

October 2010-The onsie cookie made for a baby shower. The piping and frosting getting better but still needing more practice and patience.

August 2009-Flower cookies made for my God Daughter's 1st birthday. Talk about zero to no skills. The icing was too runny and hard to control.

April 2010-My first attempt at Easter cookies. As you can plainly see, they needed the cookie police. The designs could have pulled it off however, the icing was too thick which created an uneven and rough tecture.

I have always been facinated with sugar cookies so in early 2010 I decided to put some time and effort into studying this art. Since then, I've been a Cookie Diva and make excuses to bake them up and decorate. I'm still learning the tricks of the trade so be nice to me. Welcome to my cookie journey, enjoy the ride:)
